The Hemlines to Skylines exhibition is a tribute, to the concrete and steel beauty we experience every day as New Yorkers. It features over-the-top sculptural garments created by students from the SVA's BFA Design and BFA Interior Design: Built Environments programs.

The exhibit  draws its inspiration from the art deco era and references the costumes worn at the famous Beaux-Arts Architects Ball in 1931.  In this case, the students have incorporated modern-day architectural elements and developments celebrating the new age of skyscrapers in Manhattan. Each student designed an outfit after one iconic New York City skyscraper or institution from Radio City Music Hall to Dream Hotel to the Hudson Yards Vessel.
