Carey Bond

Carey Bond is co-founder of Bluemonic, an independent, design startup focusing on performance, USCG approved products for marine and paddlesports. Previously he co-founded SUPLOGiX, a biomechanics research think tank that pioneered the use of wireless electromyography to study muscle activity in professional paddling athletes. Carey is also a presenter and contributor for MWC Productions, producers of the “By Design” television series.

A graduate of Yale University, he received a masters degree in industrial design from the Pratt Institute and certificate in apparel design and construction from the Fashion Institute of Technology. Both in-house and as an outside consultant in performance footwear, soft goods and technical accessories his resume includes Cannondale, Schwinn, Scott, Jimlar / Mountrek, Endstar, Patagonia and Mesh 01. Carey specializes in all aspects of cut and sew including patterning, construction and prototyping.

As a presenter, producer and developer his additional television credits include “Targeted Sports” on the Health Network, “Adventure Center” on the Outdoor Life Network and “Adventure Racing 101” on the Sportskool Network. On internet radio he co-hosted and produced “Adventure Center” on the Outdoor Life Network on Sirius Satellite Radio.

Carey has balanced his design and media pursuits with extensive professional work as an outdoor and adventure sports guide, product tester and fitness educator and instructor. His resume includes Equinox Fitness Clubs, Manhattan Kayak Company, Genesis Adventures, and Discover Outdoors.
