As Design Engineering Director based in New York, he not only prides himself on sweating the technical details but also on growing business-es through leadership and process improvements.

Edward leads multi-disciplinary product and design teams who rely on his knowledge of the latest technology platforms, hardware and manufacturing methods that will help transform and reimagine consumer experiences – from in-car experiences, to boosting athletic performance. With more than 20 years of experience in product development, prototyping, and manufacturing across industries such as medical, consumer, mobile and housewares, Edward also owns numerous utility and design patents.

As mentor to several startups and investment groups, Edward regularly advises entrepreneurs - new and seasoned - on the tools, emerging technologies, product development and design processes, and financial perspectives that underpin successful market launches. In his spare time, Ed participates in high performance racing events – a passion he brings to the design and engineering challenges on Smart’s automotive innovation initiatives.
