Jeff Butler

Jett Butler is a trans-disciplinary designer, entrepreneur, 2012 Austin Under 40 Finalist, Pecha Kucha presenter, panelist & speaker for SXSW, the AIA, Ad Fed and the AIGA, university critic and founder/creative director of FÖDA, an award winning brand consultancy & design studio in Austin, Texas.

Unlike many Creative Directors, Jett’s understanding of brand architecture began with architecture itself, designing physical experiences around brands in entertainment and large scale retail; moving inward with FÖDA to define the brands themselves.

He has led his studio to 18 AIGA awards, shares an AIA honor award, gold and bronze Addy’s™ from the Ad Fed, a share of a Silver Telly™ in broadcast media and a Visual Merchandising & Store Design Award and a Pixel Award.

An illustrator, Jett is also a 6-time award winner in the Ken Roberts Memorial Delineation Competition, winning best in show, twice taking the Beck Prize in digital & hybrid media, and holding a seat on the jury in 2007.  His brand approach is an effective methodology hybridized from equal parts urbanism, contextualism and ethnography versus traditional advertising driven demography.

This small innovation in process—paired with good abductive reasoning—allows FÖDA to routinely move clients to higher price points, shift profit margins, raise venture capital or reduce overhead.
